ILONA CELLO is operated by Ilona Grushynska and provides online cello lessons for adults and children aged 5 and older. This policy explains how personal information is handled through ilonacello.com, including student accounts, lesson bookings, payments, contact messages, and related communications.
For privacy questions or requests, contact hi@ilonacello.com.
1. Information collected
Student accounts. Account registration and management involve your name, email address, sign-in credentials, account identifiers, and information used to verify and secure your account. Account records also support access to your lesson history and prepaid credits.
Lessons and prepaid credits. Booking records include the student’s name, email address, time zone, lesson date and time, duration, booking and payment status, and references needed to manage the booking. Records may also include package purchases, available and used credits, cancellations, rescheduling, and replacement lessons. Guest bookings use the contact details supplied during booking. Signed-in bookings use the verified account email address.
Lesson notes. I keep notes about the technical and musical material worked on during lessons. I do not record lessons or collect or store information about students’ medical diagnoses or learning conditions.
Payments. Stripe is the only payment processor used by ILONA CELLO and processes payments. The website receives payment status and transaction references to confirm purchases and connect them to the relevant booking or package. Card details are entered through Stripe Checkout, not stored in the website’s booking database.
Contact messages. The contact form collects your name, email address, and message. It also stores a hashed value derived from the request’s IP address to help limit spam and repeated submissions. This value is not treated as anonymous information.
Website use. Cookies and browser storage support functions such as sign-in, access settings, and remembering cookie choices. External services involved in delivering the website may receive technical request information, such as an IP address and browser information.
2. Why information is used
Information is used to:
- Create, verify, secure, and manage student accounts.
- Arrange lessons, manage availability, keep booking and credit records, and support teaching through technical and musical lesson notes.
- Confirm payments and associate them with purchases.
- Process cancellations, rescheduling, and replacement lessons.
- Send account confirmations, password-reset and email-change messages, booking confirmations, reminders, and lesson-change notifications.
- Provide Zoom lesson links and deliver online lessons.
- Receive and handle enquiries and privacy requests.
- Protect website functions against misuse and resolve operational problems.
3. Service providers
Relevant information is processed using services needed to operate the website and deliver lessons:
- Lovable and Lovable Cloud: website delivery, application data storage, authentication, and managed transactional email delivery. Emails contain the recipient address and relevant account or lesson information.
- Stripe: payment processing and payment confirmation.
- Google Calendar: availability checks and management of the teacher’s lesson calendar. Calendar entries can include a student’s name, email address, time zone, and lesson details. Booking does not require connecting a student’s Google account.
- Zoom: creation and management of online lesson meetings. Meeting information can include the student’s name in the meeting title, the lesson time, and its duration. When a participant joins a lesson, Zoom also processes information associated with their use of its service.
- Google Fonts: delivery of the website’s fonts through requests from the visitor’s browser to Google.
These providers handle information under the arrangements applicable to their services. Their own privacy information also explains their processing. This policy does not promise that information stays in a particular country or that all providers follow the same retention schedule.
4. Cookies and browser storage
The website stores cookie choices in browser storage. The available choices include declining optional cookies, allowing necessary cookies only, or accepting all cookies. You can revisit your choice using Cookie Settings in the footer.
ILONA CELLO does not use Google Analytics. Selecting Accept All does not mean that analytics is currently being collected.
You can also manage cookies through your browser. Restricting necessary cookies or browser storage can affect functions such as remaining signed in.
5. Children and information supplied by adults
Lessons are available to children aged 5 and older as well as adults. Children’s lessons are usually booked by their parents or legal guardians. A parent or legal guardian arranging a child’s lessons may provide their own contact details and the child’s name or other information included in booking details or messages. Such information is handled for the relevant enquiry, booking, and lesson arrangements described in this policy.
Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive information in contact messages. A parent or legal guardian with questions about a child’s information can contact hi@ilonacello.com. The availability of lessons for children aged 5 and older does not mean that children of that age can independently consent to all processing of their information.
6. Storage, access, and security
Account, booking, credit, and contact records are stored through Lovable Cloud. The website implements account-based access restrictions, server-side administrator checks, and protected lesson-management links. These controls are intended to restrict access to relevant records; they do not amount to a guarantee of absolute security.
Booking details are also included in the teacher’s calendar and relevant transactional emails. Please keep account credentials and private lesson-management links confidential.
7. Retention
Cancelling a lesson does not automatically erase its booking history. Expiry of a booking hold, credit, or lesson-management link does not necessarily delete the associated record.
No fixed retention periods have been established. The website keeps historical account, booking, credit, and contact records; no general automatic deletion schedule has been identified for these records. Account sign-out, lesson cancellation, or expiry of a credit or link should not be understood as deletion of personal information.
Information held in email correspondence, lesson notes, provider systems, and backups is separate from the validity of a booking or link. To ask what information is held about you, how long it is kept, or to request deletion, contact hi@ilonacello.com. A deletion request may need to take account of applicable record-keeping obligations and information needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; this policy does not promise immediate or unconditional deletion.
8. Privacy rights and requests
Depending on the law applicable to you and the processing involved, you may have rights to access or correct personal information, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. These rights are not unconditional. You may also have the right to complain to the relevant data-protection authority.
Send requests to hi@ilonacello.com. Verification of your identity or authority to act for a child may be needed before information is disclosed or changed. Changing cookie settings does not cancel a lesson or automatically delete account or booking records.
9. Changes and contact
An approved updated policy will be made available on this page with its effective date.
